Our Story:

Mountainside Community Bible Church began in September of 2020 after being launched by Eastanallee Baptist Church since 2016.
Since the beginning as Eastanallee Etowah we have met a couple different places, McMinn Central High school, 906 Tennessee Avenue, Goodsprings Baptist Church’s fellowship hall, and Yahweh's Cafe. Through all the various moves and transitions we have remained focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ, reaching our community for the kingdom of God, and doing what we can to be a blessing to one another and those around us. We do this by keeping our focus on Praising God, Pursuing People, and Preparing Disciples.
1 Thess 2:8 ..we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
Our prayer is that we will continue to take the gospel out” We also pray that we can always follow the great commission of Jesus in Matthew 28 to “GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES.”
Please join us as we continue our journey and look to make lasting kingdom impact in our community.
Mission Statement:
To follow God’s calling on our lives, to be faithful disciples that live intentionally to make disciples in Etowah, in McMinn County, in Tennessee, and to the ends of the earth.
Vision Statement:
To establish Mountainside Community Bible Church in or around the town of Etowah, TN, and to establish it as a church that Praises God, Pursues People, and Prepares Disciples, all for the Glory of God alone.
Praise GodAt the center of everything we do is a desire to glorify God and life his name high. We want our worship to be an acceptable spiritual sacrifice that honors God according to 1 Peter 2:5. Whether it be through song, sermon, or any ministry within the church it should honor God | Pursue PeopleWe know God’s will for our lives is to praise him through the bringing of the gospel to others, We want the things that we do as individuals and a church to be focused on bringing others to Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20, Isaiah 52:7, 2 Corinthians 4:18, John 3:16-17) | Prepare DisciplesThirdly we believe God has called us as a church to not only reach the lost but to build up the entire church as disciples who continually place their lives under the rule and reign of King Jesus |
All for the Glory of God Alone
Everything that we do at Mountainside Community Bible Church is for God’s glory alone, not man’s. Mountainside also wants to view all things through the lense of does it bring God glory or is it just a thing to do.
Our Beliefs
The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. The word of God is inerrant, infallible, plenarily inspired, and sufficient for all things pertaining to life and godliness.
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. We believe in God who knows all things, is all present, and all powerful.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide
Regeneration
We believe that man was created by God in His own image; that he sinned and thereby incurred physical, spiritual and eternal death, which is separation from God; that as a consequence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by choice and therefore under condemnation. We believe that those who repent and forsake sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become new creatures, delivered from condemnation and receive eternal life. Titus 3:1-7
The Church
We believe the church is a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head, and regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. We believe that the one supreme authority for the church is Christ and that church leadership, gifts, order, disciplining, and worship are all appointed through His sovereignty as found in the Scriptures. The biblically designated officers serving under Christ and over the assembly are pastors and Deacons, both whom must meet biblical qualifications.
Mountainside Community Church governing structure is based on the biblical principle that the local church is autonomous, self-governing body of baptized believers and is accountable to God for its decisions and actions. The ultimate authority for governing is vested in the membership in a congregational form of church democratic decision making with major rule. Scripture provides latitude in how a church makes leadership and administrative decisions and Mountainside conducts monthly business meetings in which all members attending have an equal say.
Christian Conduct
We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow men; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.
Marriage
Although the definition of marriage constantly changes in the world around us, we believe that God alone, as Creator and Sustainer of all things, has absolute authority to establish and define the marital relationship. Therefore, as we look into God’s Word, we find the covenant of marriage is, a life-long commitment, only divided by the way of marital unfaithfulness or death. Specifically designed to be a union between male and female. To primarily mirror to the world the relationship between Christ and the church.
The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
